[prMac.com] New York, New York - Futuremedia announces the releases of RetroCalc Free! 1.1f for iPad. RetroCalc features iconic calculator designs of the early 1970's and 1980's all re-rendered in high resolution 3D. Users can swipe their fingers across the screen to choose from dozens of high definition calculator/background combinations.
Michael Venn at the popular HotMacApps site adds, "Retrocalc can be used for real work, its not just an eye pleaser but a powerful calculation tool as well. Overall this is a great calculator app for your iPad, it would be silly to choose any other standard calculator app over RetroCalc."
The full version, priced aggressively at just $0.99 (USD), was released on the iTunes App Store in June to rave reviews. AppAdvice wrote, "RetroCalc is easily the best-looking, most polished calculator on iPad." and Apptastic glowed, "RetroCalc is worthy of my iPad dock!".
Jennifer Kerry of New York based app-developer, Futuremedia says RetroCalc sales have been excellent to date. "People just seem to instantly love the app. Right off the bat, it's a beautiful, fun-to-use app that's not only nostalgic, but extremely usable. If I had to name two things that people look for in iPad apps I'd have to say eye-candy, and usability. RetroCalc has both. It's hands-down the coolest calculator app on the Appstore. We're very proud of it".
Critics continue to rave about the full version:
"RetroCalc is easily the best-looking, most polished calculator on iPad." - AppAdvice
"You'll never go back to your old calculator app again" - Apps in Review
"RetroCalc is worthy of my iPad dock" - Apptastic
"This is the coolest calculator app for iPad. Period." - iPadder blog
"Download RetroCalc for iPad and take a stand against boring calculator apps!" - The iPhone App Review
"it would be almost silly to choose any other standard calculator app over RetroCalc" - HotMacApps
You can switch between these beautifully rendered calculators and backgrounds by simply swiping across the screen. Each of these HD calculators inspired by the vintage originals was re-modeled in ultra-realistic 3D. RetroCalc supports both portrait and landscape orientations, and has excellent audiovisual feedback for all buttons. You can even set RetroCalc to randomize skin and background combinations every time you start.
RetroCalc supports multitasking. Your numerical data will remain onscreen and in memory when switching back and forth between other applications. These calculators feature memory functions, 17 digit scientific-notation, true order-of-operations ((SQRT(9) 2*5=13) and even alternate audio-feedback sounds.
The free version of RetroCalc for iPad features the same beautiful 3D-rendered graphics as the full version, but is limited to just 3 of the 12 total calculators available to premium users.
