[prMac.com] Los Angeles, California - 180, the popular arcade-action mobile puzzler from local developer Headcase Games, is now free today for iPhone to celebrate our selection as the Free App of the Day for Android as well. 180 is a colorful action-puzzler which challenges the player to think fast and act faster. A simple interface (touch anywhere to shoot, touch any gamepiece to flip to its backside color) is paired with familiar matching/chaining mechanics to bring a new level of depth and strategy to the genre. Slick controls and sharp visuals round out an exceptionally compelling experience, which has seen the critically-loved game propel up the mobile charts for some time now.
Recently featured in iTunes' "What's Hot" and "New and Noteworthy" in over 55 countries, 180 is a manic twitch-game disguised as a casual puzzler. The player must prevent the screen from filling up with gamepieces by shooting to connect 3 or more of the same color. Unique is the player's ability to touch any game piece on the playfield and flip it over 180 degrees; each piece has a different color on either side. Once mastered, players can quickly flip and shoot to create complex chains and combos.
