[prMac.com] Kongens Lyngby, Denmark - KBMSoft today is pleased to announce Hair & Beard 1.1 for iOS, their Lifestyle app that allows men to see how they would look with a different style of hair and/or beard. Starting with a photo, either shot live or pre-existing, users can try out: more than 150 of the latest, professional hairstyles; 70+ beards, goatees, or mustaches; the bald or thinning look; and 53 different hair and facial color options. A virtual makeover can inspire new grooming ideas, prevent potential hairstyle disasters, or provide friends and family an opportunity to enjoy the hilarious results.
The app, developed from the original best-selling version for women, opens and operates in portrait orientation. It is extremely easy to use, and clear instructions are included. The first step in the process is for the user to obtain a photo of himself, preferably a frontal close-up. Hair & Beard offers five button choices: Take Photo (use the device's built-in camera to shoot a live photo), Use a Model (experiment with one of the four photos already installed in the app, covering a range of complexions from light to dark), Photo Album (import a photo from the iOS Photo Album), Photos From Facebook (import a photo from Facebook), or Recently Used Photos (choose one of the last eight photos used by the app, automatically saved in its Library).
Step two is loading, centering, cropping, and scaling the photo chosen. A built-in grid overlay helps the user align the position of the eyes and shape of the face. A button removes the background and allows positioning of the photo to fit in the facial hair outline. The final step is viewing the properly set up photo with a new hairstyle or beard. Users can either scroll through the Galleries of sample hair and beard photos, sized nine to a page, or they can go directly to the My Style window and see their own photo full screen. Users can easily scroll horizontally to see each of 150 hairstyles or scroll vertically to view facial hair.
While it is very easy to set up the sample photo, the results are startlingly realistic. With a good quality photo, it would be impossible for a stranger to determine which hairstyle was real and which was virtual. And the app provides versatile controls for changing the shade of a hairstyle or beard by small increments of color. Also included is the ability to save resulting photos to the iOS Photo Album, email the photo, or post it on Facebook.
"Use Hair & Beard to get ideas and to find a new look - it is totally risk free," said Roy Caccamo, Australian hairdresser, founder of HairstyleChannel, and supplier of all the styles in Hair & Beard. "Hair & Beard carries more than 150 hairstyles, 70 beards, mustaches, and goatees all in 53 different hair colors. With half a million combinations, there will also be one for you."
