[prMac.com] Bedfordshire, England - Independent developer Nathan Costall today is pleased to announce the release of ObstaBall 1.0, his new adventure/sports game for the iPhone and iPod touch. ObstaBall is a cue ball and is tired of being hit around pool tables. ObstaBall dreams of exploring the globe. However, a mysterious figure - Number Eight, has started a mind-controlling scheme for global domination. Due to a series of fortunate and unfortunate events, only ObstaBall, with the game player's guidance, can stop Number Eight achieving his goal.
The game player must help ObstaBall capture the Henchballs (red and yellow pool balls), which Number Eight has hypnotized to take over the world. The game play involves rolling ObstaBall around obstacles and inanimate objects, smashing ObstaBall through the Henchballs' defenses, and using vehicles to ObstaBall's advantage, to knock the Henchballs into various holes and containers. The first set of containers are a hole in the floor, a plastic bin and some china mugs.
Capturing the Henchballs means they can no longer be controlled by Number Eight to use random objects (such as plastic army men and plastic letter blocks), to take over the world, and they can return to their life as pool balls on a pool table. Combining elements of pool, snooker, pinball, golf and crazy golf, and with 18 levels, 3 game modes per level, and 162 stars to collect, the game player can hone all of their ball skills and become the ultimate Henchball gatherer, and stop Number Eight.
