[prMac.com] Olney, Maryland - interHaptic today is pleased to introduce Taking a Break 1.0, which launches a first-of-its-kind iPhone app. For the first time ever, the app that manages your social networking accounts, while you are away or unavailable, is here. Taking a Break allows you to easily schedule breaks from Facebook and Twitter, and it auto replies to your incoming communications while you are on break. TaB auto replies to Facebook comments, wall updates, messages, and event invitations, and to Twitter @Mentions and Messages.
The problem Taking a Break addresses: currently, Facebook and Twitter users do not have a way of managing their accounts while they are away or unavailable. Users can either deactivate their Twitter and Facebook accounts or ignore incoming communications. Taking a Break solves this problem (it introduces a new standard in social networking etiquette) by allowing users to schedule breaks from Facebook and Twitter, and it politely sends auto replies to all incoming communications on behalf of the user. Finally, users can politely break from their social networking accounts, without abandoning their friends and followers.

Richard Bovell, Founder and CTO of interHaptic LLC and creator of TaB, says, "Taking a Break is a necessary addition to our social networking lifestyle. While we are always connected, indeed, it is impractical to respond to all incoming messages, and it is best if we have a polite way to notify our friends when we are unavailable. Taking a Break introduces a new social networking etiquette that will become standard in short time."
Taking a Break was developed by interHaptic, a very small, innovative company in the local Washington, DC area. Taking a Break is the first mobile application developed by interHaptic, who has recently shifted its business focus from developing desktop applications to developing mobile and rich media (touchscreen) applications. interHaptic specializes in creating compelling user experiences.
