"The Photo Cookbook" provides a professional, high-resolution photo at each step of the recipe. This makes it easy - even for the novice cook - to see how the meal should develop at different stages on the stove or in the oven.
The first version of this app had 60 select "meat", "fish", "vegetarian" and "desserts" recipes. If an interesting recipe is found, the user can get a summarized list of the ingredients and use it as a shopping list or email it to someone else. The comprehensive ingredient and recipe search function is an important part of the app. Every recipe begins with a photograph of all the ingredients. By clicking on individual ingredients in this photo, you can get valuable consumer information, as well as additional pictures.
The Photo Cookbook 2.0: 180 new recipes to choose from. "The Photo Cookbook" version 2.0 is now available. It has been adapted for Mac OS X Lion for ease of use and takes advantage of Lion's new features such as full-screen mode.
Previously-featured recipes are summarized in version 2.0 under the heading "Quick & Easy". These recipes can be completed in less than 30 minutes. 180 new recipes have been added - 60 each covering "Italian", "Asian" and "Baking". You can select each topic from the toolbar. The app appealingly illustrates these recipes with over 2,000 professional photos.
The iOS version only allowed the addition of these recipes to the database through In App Purchases. However, they are an integral part of the Mac version. For this reason, the app increases in price to $15.99. Owners of the previous version will be pleased to know that the 180 new recipes are now available to them with this complimentary update.
