Digital Heaven releases free plug-ins for Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5

in Multimedia (E)

[] London, United Kingdom - Digital Heaven, one of the leading third party developers for Apple Pro Apps, today announced the release of DH_GridX and DH_WideSafeX, two new freeware plug-in generators for Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5. Both plug-ins are built using Apple's latest FxPlug 2 architecture to take full advantage of GPU rendering and 64 bit processing.

DH_GridX creates a grid of up to 30 horizontal and vertical divisions which can be independently set. As any designer will say, grids are a useful tool to assist in the setting up of consistent graphical elements and are not usually seen in the final project. The grid may be drawn over the entire frame or a custom defined area with line color and width also adjustable.

DH_WideSafeX provides 4:3, 14:9 and 16:9 action and title safe areas in 16:9 aspect ratio projects with support for standard definition NTSC/PAL, high definition 720/1080, 2K and 4K. While Final Cut Pro X can display traditional safe areas these do not show markings for 16:9 projects reformatted to 4:3 and 14:9 versions - a feature critical for broadcast output. DH_WideSafeX is compliant with BBC/EBU safe area specifications.

System Requirements:
* Final Cut Pro X or Motion 5

Pricing and availability:
DH_GridX and DH_WideSafeX are free and available for download after registration at the Digital Heaven website. DH_WideSafe for Final Cut Pro 4-7 is also now a free plug-in (previously $29.00 USD).

Digital Heaven was founded in 2000 by ex-BBC Resources video editor Martin Baker. For six years the company provided broadcast post production facilities for clients such as the BBC, Channel Four and many independent production companies. After the success of their first software products, the company shifted its focus in 2005 to exclusively concentrate on software development. In total, 16 Final Cut Plug-ins and six applications have been added to the product range. Copyright (C) 2011 Digital Heaven. All Rights Reserved.
