[prMac.com] Seoul, Korea - Zepetto, a multi-platform game developer in Korea, today is pleased to announce their shooting game "Empire&Boat" on iOS platform (iPhone and iPad). Empire&Boat is the second in Zepetto's "Air, Sea and Land" strike series. Touch Fly, release last December, has been ranked #1 in Mac App Store. The upcoming 'land' shooting game, "Archer" in this autumn will complete the shooting series. In this shooter, player's battleship has to destroy countless invading enemy ships under the sea.
The fierce battle between a battleship and enemies in Empire&Boat will bring back the nostalgia among the old video gamers; however, the game has been revamped to take an advantage of the iOS platform to make an appeal to younger gamers as well. The game can be download from the iPhone and iPad iTunes Appstore, and the initial price set at 99cents. During this weekend (Sep 3rd to 4th), it will be offered free to celebrate its global launching.
Hyojoon Han, the head of Zepetto's SAN studio that are responsible for the series, claims "the advent of these so-called smart devices make gaming experience more intuitive and simple," and added that "the Zepetto's shooting series on iOS so far has been designed to follow our predecessors' footsteps, 'filling up the screen with enemies and our hero, with the help of player's maneuver, survives.' Another goal of ours was to provide the maximum fun and immersive experience to the gamers so they may miss their bus /metro stops."
Maneuvering is very simple: player's battleship moved by tilting the device clockwise/counter-clockwise. Firing is by touching any place on the screen. Yet, tricky and incremental difficulties will pose serious challenges to gamers. While avoiding enemy missiles and sea mines, agile players should be able to see the ruined and sunken landscapes of the cities around the world in the backgrounds. Various power-up items should be able to help those who find this game's learning curve too steep.
