[prMac.com] London, United Kingdom - PS Ventures Limited today announced that their new app, News Tweets, is now available as a free download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch from Apple's App Store.
News Tweets displays news headlines from the Twitter feeds of nearly 100 major news networks covering the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Users can choose which news feeds they are interested in and the latest headlines from those feeds are shown in the app as they are tweeted. No twitter account is required.
The beauty of aggregating news feeds from Twitter is that the tweets are limited to 140 characters making it easy for the user to pick out a news story that interests them. Most tweets come with a link to a full news article on a website and the full article is viewable from within the app.
As well as general news feeds, there are specific feeds for sport, politics and technology. These feeds include Twitter accounts from Sky News, the BBC, CNN, CNBC, Fox News and a large range of popular daily newspapers and magazines. With an average of over 2,000 news headlines received per day across all the feeds, News Tweets really does provide a great overview of the day's events.
If a user finds a news item that interests them, they can also search for similar stories across all the other feeds
PS Ventures Limited director Philip Simpson commented "We're very excited to be releasing a free app that provides such quick, comprehensive and easy access to current news stories. It really doesn't take long for a user to get fully up to speed with all the major news stories of the day."
