[] Helsinki, Finland - Tapisodes announces Papa Boy 1.2 for iPad. Finnish publisher, Lasten Keskus, has made a historical move for local children's entertainment by launching iPad application Papa's Boy. The application is one of the first animated picture books in Finnish for iPad, and has reached the top of the Books charts in the Finnish App Store. Now Papa's Boy is released in English for an international market.

The Papa's Boy App is based on a children's book with a same name created by father and son team, Jukka and Leevi Lemmetty. Papa's Boy is a story of courage and the power of following your dreams. The animated application brings the story to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, and offers an exclusive English language version not yet available in print.

Users can read along with the voice of narrator and voice artist Sean Connolly (Horrid Henry, Aardman Animation's Rex the Runt) or choose to read by themselves. UK production company Tapisodes made the interactive application for iPhones and iPads.

"With these new platforms we can make beautiful stories like Papa's Boy available to a wider audience across the world. Both the print and electronic forms of the story have their own special qualities and it made absolute sense for us to offer readers the choice. We are particularly excited that this new animated App has been released in English for international readers," comments Tamsin Lyons, producer at Tapisodes.

The story of Papa's Boy is also told in an animated short film, which was commissioned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of composer Fryderyk Chopin. Set to the Opus 25 No. 9, the film's soundtrack was recorded by classical superstar pianist Lang Lang. It is part of a collection of short films under the banner: The Flying Machine: The World of Chopin's Études which had its world premiere on 12th February and will be released in Spring 2012. Further screenings will be announced via the Papa's Boy Facebook page.
