[prMac.com] Athlone, Ireland - "Buy One Get One Free", "Get Three for the Price of Two", "Buy 3 for $20"... Comparing product prices can be tricky at the best of times, but it gets considerably more difficult when you factor in all of the sales promotion techniques used by retailers. BOGOF Price Comparison, the new iOS app from Irish company Moonswing, cuts through all of the confusion and the complex calculations.
There are other price comparison apps, but in most cases the information they provide can already be determined by searching a product's price tag for its 'unit price'. Unit pricing allows shoppers to compare the value of products of different sizes by giving their cost per 100g, per fl oz, per kg, or any other unit of measurement. While this is helpful for price comparisons, the problem with unit pricing is that is no longer accurate when a sales promotion is applied to a product. That's where BOGOF Price Comparison comes in, allowing you compare the costs of products - regardless of the pricing promotion used - and quickly find the one that saves you money.
"BOGOF Price Comparison can handle all those promotional offers that retailers love to tempt customers with" says Moonswing founder Tom Tierney. "Whether you're in your local supermarket, shopping online or simply looking at ads in a newspaper, our app will allow you accurately gauge the relative prices of products and ensure that you always get the best possible deal."
BOGOF Price Comparison allows detailed product information be entered in a very short time. The main screen is made up of two product areas and four 'Offer' buttons, each one corresponding to a popular sales promotion technique. Tapping on a product area selects it, while tapping the appropriate 'Offer' button for the selected product leads to a data entry screen where product details are entered.
Products can be measured in Units, by Volume and by Weight. For products measured by volume or weight, Metric and Imperial (US or UK) measurements are accepted. If a comparison between two products is possible it will be performed automatically with the product offering the better value highlighted, along with detailed information on the relative prices of the products.
So, which is the better value buy? Three six-packs of 500ml beverages (costing $7.50 each) in a "Get 3 for the Price of 2" offer OR a crate of twenty 12fl oz beverages that normally costs $15, but today has a 10% deduction off the marked price. With BOGOF Price Comparison you'll have the answer, and be saving money, in seconds.
