[prMac.com] Milan, Italy - Tension Software announces release of it's mathematical utility for Mac OS X, Calcline 1.4. Calcline is a modern calculator developed in Objective-C and Cocoa to run full optimized on Mac OS X in the full spirit of Mac OS X, simple effective and elegant (and fast). It uses a very small window and can be used as just a utility application to perform small calculation or as a full powered calculation tool.
Calcline employes a simple text field without button to press, the user has just to insert a mathematical expression using precedence parenthesis and mathematical functions and hitting return, Calcline will solve it (no button to press and no old desk calculator metaphor). Calcline has additional features, a user can insert also variable names or constant in the expression and Calcline will use these variables in calculations. All the variables and their values are mantained inside a table.
Managing and manipulating variables is easy and intuitive, the small Calcline window can be expanded up to a full screen window in case the user needs to manipulate a large quantity of variables. If necessary the application can show step by step solution of equations, very useful for learning course or for post calculation checks.
New in this release Calcline now keep variables and their value in memory and when the user re-launches the application they are ready keeping the original value. In this release further improvements regard the unique calc engine powering the application which is a custom one made by the company using custom made C and Objective C functions all built and refined on Mac OS X.
This architecture is now well tested and reliable both from a performance and from a functionality point of view. Calcline has a very short learning path and anyone with a minimal mathematical skill can start using Calcline in an effective way from the first launch. Tension Software realized this application in the spirit of Mac OS X, simple effective and elegant and the company will try to match the needs of the Mac users community with further updates in the next months.
Tension Software started in 1997 developing Mac software for Mac OS Classic. Now Tension Software still develops Mac software for Mac OS X using the last Apple technology, Cocoa and Objective-C. All the current Mac production is made by Universal Applications native on both PPC Mac and Intel Mac.
