[prMac.com] Agoura Hills, CA - Internationally-renowned editor, director and Apple-certified trainer Larry Jordan is creating a series of short, focused PowerUP Tutorial videos covering a wide range of subjects related to video and film editing. Jordan's latest release, Preparing Still Images for Final Cut Pro, has been widely requested by editors worldwide.
Based upon Jordan's globally-recognized Final Cut Studio seminars, the PowerUP Tutorial series was designed to meet the needs of editors and filmmakers who want to easily upgrade their skills or stay current with industry trends through instantly downloadable video sessions. The downloads do not require Photoshop or Final Cut Pro to view.
"One of the questions I get asked a lot," said Jordan, "was whether these tutorials are different from materials that I've developed for one of my newsletters or the extensive on-line training I've done for Lynda.com. And the answer is definitely yes. These tutorials are short, focused on a single subject that is not covered well anywhere else, and are updated as technology changes. They are designed to compliment all the other training that I've done, not compete with it."
For example, the 12-minute "Preparing Stills" tutorial demonstrates how to accurately create, size, and import two types of still images - single-layer JPEGs or TIFFs and multi-layer PSD files. The step-by-step guide provides tips on how to make images display accurately and ensure aspect ratios are correct. The tutorial also covers properly scaling multi-layer Photoshop documents within Final Cut Pro.
Each tutorial is a QuickTime movie that runs between 6-15 minutes, showcasing specific techniques to solve a particular problem. Current topic categories include: New Technology, Getting Started, Fixing Problems, Editing, Effects, and Output. "Ten Tips for Faster Editing" is being offered as a free trial download. New tutorials are added weekly.
As an Apple-Certified Trainer in Digital Media, specializing in Final Cut Studio, Jordan combines his extensive production experience with his teaching skills to bring a wide-ranging, real-world perspective to his tutorials. He was one of the first four Apple-Certified trainers in the U.S. to receive credentials as an "Advanced level" Final Cut Pro instructor. In addition to authoring three books on Final Cut Pro, published by Peachpit Press, Jordan has produced hundreds of hours of on-line training for Lynda.com on all the applications in Final Cut Studio.
Larry Jordan's PowerUP Tutorials are $4.99 (USD) each and available for instant download.
