[prMac.com] Vancouver, Washington - Avatron Software (R) today announced a holiday sale on its popular Air Sharing application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Air Sharing, billed by Avatron as "the easiest way to view your documents on the go," lets users connect a computer wirelessly to the iPhone, copy documents to it, and view the documents offline. For the duration of the sale, the company has reduced the price of Air Sharing by 29%. At the same time, Avatron submitted a new updated version of Air Sharing to Apple's App Store.
The software update, Air Sharing 1.1, features a scrollbar for fast access in large documents, which can span hundreds of pages. A local passcode lock provides security for confidential files. An Upload button lets users upload files to Air Sharing even when viewing its contents from a web browser, such as Apple's Safari or Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
"Air Sharing is just our first product," explained Dave Howell, Avatron's CEO. "The holiday sale may or may not increase revenues; that's not really the point. Increased unit sales will get Air Sharing into the hands of thousands more users, strengthen our brand equity, and serve as a launching pad for some really exciting new apps that we have in the pipeline."
For version 1.1, Avatron translated Air Sharing into four more languages, making Air Sharing 1.1 run in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Norwegian, Japanese, Korean, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese. "Only about 40% of our users are in the U.S.," said Howell. "The rest live in about sixty other countries around the world, including Pakistan, Panama, and Qatar."
