[prMac.com] Munich, Germany - GbC Studios announces Crashsite Defense 1.2.1 in both iPhone and iPad versions. The people at GbC Studios are gamers themselves, and huge fans of everything that has to do with tower defense. But they perceived some TD games to be overly repetitive, with columns and columns of cannon fodder, conveying neither a sense of grandeur nor humor.
So they set out to change that, putting their PhDs in physics aside and investing many long nights into this game. And now that they are finished, they are actually convinced that they got it right.
Playing Crashsite Defense, the focus appears to be shifted away from mazing and the positioning of towers towards fast-paced action and RPG-like tower customization. Homing missiles and tesla chain lightning leech? Anything goes! Plus, there are seven special attacks to be unlocked, which seem to be every bit as important as the construction of towers and their upgrades.
The 20 different types of enemies fan out to attack in varying formations, including special maneuvers like multiple bombing runs, giving the game a rather dynamic feeling.
All the while, the action takes place in an over the top cliched science fiction scenario, with three main protagonists: The ship's paranoid captain, his sexy yet helpless aide and the captain's arch-enemies, cute robots which actually don't want to do anything else but help.
So far, the release of the game has been a huge success, with 2000 copies downloaded on day one alone! GbC Studios plan to build on this momentum by offering much more new content in the course of the next few weeks.
