Paleo and zone diet iPhone app + CrossFit WOD's

January 4, 2013 in Health and Fitness (E)

[] Atlanta, Georgia - Developed by KJM Productions, Food RX is an iPhone app designed for paleo and zone dieters and the CrossFit community. Paleo approved foods are marked and easily searchable within the paleo food database, zone blocks are calculated and tracked with the press of a single button, and the workout database has lots of WOD's for travelers or when a gym is not accessible - all CrossFit workouts will be added over the next few updates. The following are a few more features Food RX offers:

Automatic zone diet meal plan - initial launch of Food RX will ask a few quick questions and suggest the number of blocks per meal and meal times based on your needs. Later you can navigate to the settings tab > block calculator and better dial in this number if you know your body fat %. There is also a section to take notes about your meals or add any comments you'd like.

The food database is constantly being updated. After the update submitted on 12/31/12 is approved a new Food RX update will be submitted that will increase the Paleo food database by around 6800 foods. Paleo (or caveman diet) foods are marked with a big red steak. The paleo food database can be used as a reference to discover paleo approved foods but with more options.

The paleo food database also allows you create a shopping list with the click of a button and if your following the paleo/zone diet you can quickly determine the block amount of foods. The update submitted 12/31/12 will also allow you to track your daily food consumption - click "log food" and the block amount is added to a progress bar on your profile view - and to track your WOD's (workout of the day).

The food database makes it easy and fast to calculate the amount of food needed to fulfill food blocks and add the food the calculated amount to your shopping list. The paleo and zone diet food database can be navigated by scrolling through, searching or using the filtering options accessed by sliding the food database view out of the way and checking off the options to filter the results.

A workout database is included and is intended mainly for when on the road or times a gym is not accessible. A lot of the WOD's (workout of the day) can be done in a very tight space, such as a hotel room. But all CrossFit WOD's and exercise demonstration will be added in the next few updates - Food RX updates have been coming out about every 2-3 weeks.
