[prMac.com] Liverpool, United Kingdom - Janric has announced the release of Mad Dog 1.0 for iOS. The race is approaching its 4th staging of the event which has been voted the #1 10k race in the UK by readers of Runners World. In 3 years the race proceeds have allowed the organizers to donate in excess of 20,000 to local charities.
The Mad Dog 10k app, currently available for the iPhone and iPod touch, provides users with a selection of 3 training schedules to help them prepare for the big day. There is a choice of sub 45-minutes, sub 60-minutes and sub 75-minutes training schedules. The schedules also act as a log, allowing users to simply tap the session once completed to record it as done.
The app also includes news updates, useful information on how to get to the race on race day, information about the Round Table (the organizers of the race), previous winners and much more.
The race is organized each year by the Southport and Hesketh Round Table in order to raise funds for local charities, such as the Southport Life Boat, Spinal Unit Support Group, Home Start, Samaritans and more. 1500 GBP was given to the Southport YMCA Gymnastics Club in 2012, just prior to one of their gymnasts winning an Olympic Bronze medal.
