[prMac.com] Reston, VA - About Objects is pleased to announce a partnership with NTI (Northern Technology Institute) Leeds, a certified Apple training center and part of Leeds Metropolitan University's Innovation North faculty, to offer iPhone 3.0 developer training in the UK. NTI Leeds will begin immediately to offer the iPhone Development course licensed from About Objects, with the first 3-day class scheduled to run July 20 through July 22, 2009. The class will be held at NTI Leeds headquarters in the Old Broadcasting House in the Civic Quarter, Leeds, UK.

The iPhone Development course is designed to quickly give developers a solid understanding of iPhone programming fundamentals, as well as some real hands-on proficiency with the APIs and tools."
The iPhone Development course takes attendees from the fundamentals of Objective-C 2.0 through all the basics of developing apps using the iPhone SDK's APIs, Xcode development environment, Interface Builder, and other tools.
During the class, students learn to develop apps that sport a variety of features, including: custom drawing and animation that interacts with touch screen input; interactive controls such as buttons and text fields; table views that present lists of items and groupings of detail information; view controllers that manage navigation between several views; interacting with web content inside the app; and data persistence.
Some of the topics covered by the course include: Objective C 2.0; Categories and Protocols; Memory Management on the iPhone; Overview of the iPhone SDK; Xcode and Interface Builder; Delegation and Other Cocoa Touch Design Patterns; Core Services; Views and View Controllers; Core Animation; Events, Touches, Responders, and Controls; Table Views, Delegates and Data Sources; Navigation and Tab Bar Controllers; Persisting User Data and Application State; and App Bundles, .Nib Files, and Other Resources.
NTI is part of Leeds Metropolitan University's Innovation North faculty. Now based at Old Broadcasting House in the Civic Quarter, NTI Leeds started life in 1993 as one of 19 government-funded New Technology Institutes around the country.
