[prMac.com] Moscow, Russian Federation - The new version of ABBYY's powerful mobile scanning application which fully supports iOS 8 and its extensions is available in the Apple(R) App Store free of charge. A winner of the SUPERSTAR Mobile Star Awards(TM) for high-resolution scanning of printed and hand-written text, ABBYY FineScanner now delivers highly-accurate optical character recognition (OCR) and format retention for scanned documents in 44 languages, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean (CJK), and Cyrillic.
"We have interviewed our users on what features of the app are crucial for their everyday productivity. More than 40% voted for text recognition and now they have it," said Artem Kumpel, Director of Lingvo & Mobile Products Department at ABBYY. "We also restored a grayscale filter for getting sharp and high-contrast images not only in color and black-and-white, but also in grayscale versions."
