Shush Launches Totally Anonymous App - No cyber bullies allowed

October 18, 2014 in Social Networking (F)

[] New York, New York - The Shush team has announced the release of their app for iOS. Shush is a simple, yet powerful way to openly discuss topics in a free, safe, and anonymous community. With lots of pundits in the anonymous space, Shush is set out to be different from the start. Unlike the majority of it's competitors Shush does not require your email, social media profile, or phone number to log in. Shush is truly anonymous. Another difference is the app's proprietary API, which flags and removes malicious or sexual encounter related content. It is not just another anonymous app cluttered with negative content and users looking to get laid. The inspiration of a better and more positive anonymous community is what spurred the creation of Shush.

Shush is available to download this Friday from iTunes and even though it was tested and built in NYC, it's available nationwide was well. Download the free app and contact the Shush team.

Truly Anonymous & Safe Community:
Months ago, when the team was prodding the current anonymous apps on the market they quickly realized none of them were totally anonymous. You either had to submit your email, phone number, or facebook account. How is that anonymous? As you'll notice when you first open Shush, there is no sign up or login screen. It brings you straight to a feed of posts, along with giving you the option to post your own in a matter of seconds.

The team set out to build an app that does not garner personal data or track it's users. With the anonymous space heating up, does Plato's Ring of Gyges ring a bell? Shush's team believes that a lot of important topics and discussions can finally breathe and live with complete anonymity. No fear of belittlement or being harassed by a cyber bully. Instead, Shush want's to instill a sense of community
"It's my goal to have killer execution and be different from the rest right out the gate. We have no plans to waste our time with another hook up or cyberbullying app. From what I've gained, it's apparent that the key to a successful and morally sound company centered around anonymity is Community," wrote the Shush product evangelist.

How exactly will they do this? By building the app from the ground up to flag and remove malicious content. The founders are focused on sustainability long term and believe that building a trusted and open community is key.

Topics & Location help drive the app:
As you'll see when you download the app and write your first post, Shush recommends each user to tag a topic. As of now there are only 8 general topics but the team plans to listen closely to users in order to release mothers. They want to turn this topic suggestion mechanism into some type of a user-generated poll where users can chime in about what topic Shush should allow next. The neat thing about topics is that users can view all posts from a specific topic at any given time. The hope is to have these topics curate and drive the app a bit more along with location.

As mentioned, users can also tag their location if they choose. There is a feed within the app focused on posts solely nearby. The team is also finishing up an update where users can choose between different fonts to post in and view posts from other cities they're not currently in, jumping out of the typical 'nearby' functionality seen in most anonymous apps.
