[prMac.com] Tokyo, Japan - The smart gourmet app "SynchroLife" run by AI Pacific, Inc., is collaborating with popular car hire and taxi hailing service app "Uber" run by Uber Technologies, Inc. and Uber Japan Co. Ltd., to launch an Online to Offline (O2O) marketing campaign based on SynchroLife's "check-in and rate" feature which allows users to log their experiences eating out on the go. SynchroLife will also be using Uber's recently released API to add an Uber button to the app's restaurant pages starting this winter.
From October 20, 2014 to December 20, 2014, users who check-in and rate any Kanto area restaurant with a photograph will receive a promotional coupon code worth up to 4,000 yen to use on their first ride with Uber (valid only for UberBlack). The Uber coupon code will be distributed within SynchroLife and is valid until January 31, 2015 for new Uber users. SynchroLife is using its check-in feature to directly target users active in the Kanto area for this campaign.
SynchroLife will also be using Uber's recently released API to add an Uber button to the app starting this winter. This will allow users to seamlessly request a vehicle through Uber directly to and from their restaurant of choice from within SynchroLife. Integration of Uber's API is something that has not yet been seen widely in Japan's food app industry, and it will allow users to have an even more convenient dining experience.
"With the collaboration between SynchroLife and Uber, I hope users can enjoy a great night out on the town, travelling in comfort and style both to and from the perfect restaurant SynchroLife helped them choose," said Tomochika Kamiya, president of AI Pacific, Ltd. "In SynchroLife we have food lovers checking into restaurants across Tokyo several hundred times a day and I think our users are very close to Uber's target audience."
SynchroLife is a new generation of food app that learns from user actions to curate a constantly updating list of recommended restaurants personalized to each user based on their lifestyle and tastes. In addition to star ratings and photos, SynchroLife also includes a check-in feature. This is gamified as users compete for "frequent customer" titles and other badges based on the restaurants where they've checked in. AI Pacific, Inc. plans to use this feature to expand its location based O2O marketing in the future.
SynchroLife aims to become Asia's No. 1 "Easy" restaurant discovery service, and is planning to integrate the Uber API not only in Tokyo but also in places such as Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and other available cities as they expand into Asia.
