The Conde Nast GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of the British publishing group Conde Nast International, which is part of the US media group Advance Publications. It was named after its founder, the publisher Conde Montrose Nast (1873-1942). The German subsidiary publishing house was founded in 1978 in Munich.
