Software Ops releases Ding 1.0 - The little bell with an attitude

October 14, 2009 in Entertainment (E)

[] Scottsdale, Arizona/USA - Software Ops today announces the launch of a fun entertainment application called Ding for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Ding is an entertainment application for your iPhone or iPod Touch that is designed to be interactive and fun to play with. It was built with the intention of giving a service bell it's own personality. The user taps the top of the service bell and hears a actual bell ring along with a smart aleck remark by the bell. It has actual voice sound as well as written text, for situations where the user is in a noisy environment and can't hear the voice.

"Have you ever seen those little service bells sitting on a counter with a sign that says Do not ring, Be Back Soon and you just wanted to go up and just ring it anyway to see what would happen? Well my daughter and I came up with the idea of giving the service bell a voice and an attitude." says Lynn Michels of Software Ops.

"Ding has several different dialogs to choose from within the application, so it's not the same old dialog every time." says Michels. Once a user has gone through one of the dialogs, the screen will slide in a new background color and a new dialog. The different background colors are there to show the user that there is a new dialog and they have a reference color for their favorite one. The application has arrows in the upper left hand corner so the user can pick a different dialog or choose their favorite one to hear again. Sometimes the little bell is happy to have someone to talk and sometimes he's completely annoyed at the persons stupidity and persistence of constantly ringing him.

"We typically design applications that are for securing private information, but we thought it would be fun to design an entertainment application. My daughter and I had a blast designing it and putting it all together and we hope that people will enjoy it and have as much fun with it as we did putting it together." states Michels.

Ding can be found on the Apple iTunes App Store in the entertainment section, where it can be downloaded onto the iPhone or iPod Touch. The introductory sale price for this application is 99 cents. So have fun, laugh and see what Ding has to say. He may be happy to see you, completely annoyed with you, or even talk a little naughty. It's a lot of fun for less than the price of a pack of gum.
