AppButler - A new way to discover the AppStore on an international scope

December 7, 2009 in Productivity (E)

[] Greifswald, Germany - rapidrabbit today is proud to announce a new way to discover the Apple AppStore by using the AppButler. This unique tool automatically observes the AppStore and keeps track of every app. A special algorithm calculates a score for every app which represents the number of ranks the app has gained in the biggest AppStore markets within 24 hours.

A lot has been written about the AppStores flaws - users are bound to the top lists and it's difficult to find or get notified about something new. The AppButler changes this. With this new app that has hit the AppStore recently and is climbing the ranks very fast, no one will miss "the next big thing". Due to the unique algorithm and push services the AppButler "serves" fresh apps every day.

The special algorithm calculates a score for every app with the data from the biggest AppStore countries (US, Canada, Germany, UK, France, Italy, Japan, Australia) . The score represents how many ranks an app has gained the last 24 hours in the TOP 100 lists of these countries. Thus an international ranking for the hottest apps is created by the AppButler. Users can determine a score threshold and the categories they are interested in. Based on these settings the user will be informed via push if the AppButler has found something for them.

"We can often see an interesting app one or two days before it hits the TOP 10 and is mentioned by blog around the world." says Paul Müller, who has developed the algorithm. This makes the AppButler a valuable tool for bloggers, reviewers and other media journalists. If an app gets a price cut it will also climb the ranks very fast - you won't miss that opportunity with the AppButler.

The highlights at a glance:
* Unique algorithm to determine hot apps
* Fresh apps every day
* Push services - to be the first to know
* Great AppStore research tool

Besides getting notified about the hottest apps worldwide, the user can also browse through a category list to see the hottest apps in one particular category. This is a very convenient way to discover new apps and also a great research tool for journalists and developers.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone or iPod Touch 3.0 or later

Pricing and Availability:
AppButler 1.0 is free (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Productivity category.
