[prMac.com] Chandler, Arizona - MF Software today today released the first update to their popular top-100 Productivity title for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Top Rated Apps 1.1 allows you to browse only the highest-rated apps on the iTunes App Store, online or offline, and store favorites for future purchase or reference. The update contains many new apps to browse as well as a variety of bug fixes.
"We had a great response to our 1.0 product," says Matthew Formica, Chief Technologist for MF Software. "It really tapped into a need people had for a way to sort through all the apps in the iTunes App Store. Plus, people have been giving us ideas for future feature enhancements, which we plan to implement in ongoing free updates."
MF Software's editors have reviewed literally thousands of apps on the store, and included over 500 apps (including over 300 games) that iTunes App Store users have rated on average 4 star or higher. The Top Rated Apps are organized by category, so you can browse them just like you would in the App Store.
The great thing is, the large database of apps that have been assembled is stored *in the application itself* instead of being downloaded from the internet during use like in most other app store browsing apps. So, users can browse icons, ratings, descriptions, etc. (everything except screenshots) offline.
Finding all these great apps wouldn't be any good if you couldn't build a list of your favorites for later. So, built in is an easy way to add apps you like to a Favorites tab, so that you can add apps NOW and then decide which ones to buy LATER. No more forgetting which apps you liked, and having to look for them all over again!
* iPhone or iPod Touch 3.0 or later
