Bookshelf Apps Releases SongBook Mac 2.0

December 21, 2009 in Music and Recording (E)

[] London, UK - Bookshelf Apps today is proud to announce the immediate availability of SongBook Mac 2.0. SongBook Mac is an iTunes like application for controlling open music systems including Linn, Naim, UPNP and DLNA products. With SongBook Mac users can browse network music servers and control playback on a variety of audio systems. Network music servers based on the UPNP standard are supported, as well as hardware products such as the Naim HDX.

Browsing network music collections is quick and simple with SongBook. Three views are provided, a Listing view, an Album Art view, and CoverFlow navigation. Users can filter music using the seach box, and build up a playlist using drag and drop or with the Shuffle function.

In order to provide a complete solution for Mac users, SongBook now includes a high quality CD ripping function. This uses AccurateRip to ensure bit-perfect CD extraction every time. Extraction is tailored to UPNP MediaServer requirements and supports lossless formats such as FLAC and Apple Lossless. Album art can be embedded, or stored as a Folder.jpg file specifically for use with Twonky servers.

SongBook Mac is well integrated with Mac OS X, making use of features such as the Apple Remote control, and providing a Status Menu for quick access to volume settings. This release also adds support for more audio systems, including the Naim HDX, Naim Uniti, Roku Soundbridge and many others. Users can either use the build in iTunes music library sharing or can use a UPNP network media server or NAS device.
