[prMac.com] Alexandria, Virginia - Vito Technology has released a new update to their award-winning Star Walk astronomy guide, that has just been feature by Apple in Best Apps of 2014. The update includes a comprehensive study of the planets of the solar system, including layered 3d models, spacecrafts, high resolution surface maps and exclusive articles about scientific mission.

The Planets is an awe-inspiring journey through the solar system. All-new 3D models were built using data gathered by NASA and the European Space Agency. This upgrade lets you examine every planet layer by layer, look at its surface in astonishing detail, see the orbiting spacecrafts in real-time and read stories of exploratory missions.

There is a lot yet to be discovered in this area, and the space missions currently at work are also present in the app, traveling around the planets at their actual positions tracked in real time.

Prominent geographical locations are marked on the high resolution surface texture, so users can study the Moon and its crates detail and learn their names.
