iPhone App Helps Coworkers From Having To Sit On Each Other's Laps

in Utilities (E)

[prMac.com] Los Angeles, California - Could 200 people be comfortably seated in a dining room of 2,000 square feet? How many people could mingle in a 20'x50' room before it started to feel like a Tokyo Subway at rush hour? If you have an iPhone and the new app Meeting Space Calculator, you have the answers at your fingertips.

Meeting Management Tools, LLC. announced the release of the app, designed for anyone planning a meeting or event and needing to determine the space requirements of their gathering. Given a room size and a layout, Meeting Space Calculator will determine the maximum number of individuals that can comfortably fit within the space. Alternatively, the app will give a size requirement if it is given the number of attendees and a room configuration. This information can be easily noted in the app's built-in notepad.

The app features the most common room layouts and can work with any size of room. It also allows the user to compare one layout versus another to determine which is the best fit for the individual event's needs. In addition, the app will optionally allow for the use of a rear-projection screen, a common need among event organizers. A preference can be set to use metric or Imperial units of measure.

"This is an invaluable tool when you are scouting potential venues for your meetings and need to quickly evaluate room capacity on the spot. And it wasn't created solely for business users," notes Marybeth Roberts, a meeting & event industry expert, and designer of the app. "Wedding planners will also love this app because it can evaluate space requirements for both the ceremony and reception because of the different layouts the app understands."
