[prMac.com] Science Park, Hong Kong - Joy Aether today is pleased to announce Vocab Ninja 1.1 for iOS and Android, an update to their new pumpkin smashing vocabulary and spelling Game with a spooky Halloween theme. Players can choose either vocabulary or spelling practice, and questions appear at the top of the screen. A variety of possible answers, written on pumpkins, are tossed into the air from below, and the player must touch the pumpkin with the correct answer on it to smash it. Players have only 9 seconds per question, and pumpkins remain in the air for just a few seconds. Experts may also enhance their scores by touching trick-or-treat candy while avoiding vampire bats, witches, and skeletons, all tossed upward among the pumpkins.

Choosing the correct spelling of a word like "identity" from among four different choices is usually not too difficult. But on test day, the task becomes much more challenging because of the pressure. Vocab Ninja simulates answering spelling questions under test conditions in three ways. First, a horizontal thermometer runs out after only nine seconds. That means the player must read the question, figure it out, and then locate and touch the right answer all in fewer than nine seconds. Second, the various possible spellings are inscribed on pumpkins flying in arcs, randomly thrown up from the bottom of the screen. And third, a wrong choice has negative consequences. Touching the wrong pumpkin deducts points, and touching a flying bat ends the game.
Vocab Ninja may be an ideal "edutainment" game, since it provides excellent practice in spelling words correctly and defining vocabulary words, puts pressure on the player to answer correctly that resembles the pressure felt under testing circumstances, and is great fun since it allows players to smash pumpkins while they show off their word skills. With spooky Halloween graphics and music, playing Vocab Ninja for extended periods is definitely recommended for all students planning to take SATs or ACTs.
"Right now is the perfect time to get Vocab Ninja during our Halloween 75% off sale," stated Ricky Lui of Joy Aether. "Smash pumpkins and get smart at the same time - what could be better?"
