CaptureNotes 2 for iPad - Take Notes, Record Audio, Flag the Critical
October 27, 2011 in Productivity
[prMac.com] Miami, Florida - G8R Software today is pleased to announce CaptureNotes 2 for iPad, a major update to their Productivity app that allows the user to type or write notes, while simultaneously recording the audio of the lecture or meeting. Users can mark key points by placing a Flag in the Notebooks as they take notes. The Flags are keyed with an icon, name, and color, and when placed during audio recording, become time-stamped and synced to the audio at that precise point. When later reviewing the notes, audio playback is simple to achieve through the placed Flags. A complete note taking solution, the app now features PDF importing directly into Notebooks, customizable Flags, backup and restore through iTunes and Dropbox, along with the Binder and Notebook organization system.
Hailed by users as one of the most creative features of any note taking app for the iPad are the graphic markers called Flags, which can be inserted anywhere in the user's notes during or after the meeting or lecture. With CaptureNotes 2, Customized Flags have been included with the default Business & Education sets. Users can create their own custom Flags that suit their specific needs and habits by assigning a name and one of over 100 icons to uniquely colored Flags. The custom Flags help to clarify notes, and aid in organizing information, data, questions, comments, etc. All Flags become available through the Filter Flags button once placed in a Notebook, which permits the user to efficiently review their notes by jumping to similarly Flagged sections.
CaptureNotes 2 is very simple in operation, yet includes icons, buttons, and control settings that allow users a customized experience. Note taking is a highly personalized activity - no two people are alike. CaptureNotes 2 gives every user the freedom to take notes in the style that best suits them and then adds a complete audio record of the entire presentation as a permanent reference. Audio recordings can be started, paused, or stopped at any time while working in the Notebook and are immediately available for replay through the Audio Segment Drawer.
G8R Software simplified the process of taking and reviewing notes on the iPad with CaptureNotes 2 by allowing notebooks to remain open to amendments at any time. Class notes, meeting notes, or any type of running dialog can now be captured in a single Notebook. While in the Notebook, the user can choose from blank, ruled, or grid paper styles. The app accommodates writing with a finger or iPad stylus, and the user can type in text using the pop-up virtual keyboard or an optional, external Bluetooth keyboard. There are more than 100 type fonts and four type sizes. Combining diagrams and drawings with text is effortless, with four pen sizes and eight colors. In addition to the default paper styles, the new PDF import allows users to bring documents into a notebook and take notes directly on the PDF, while audio recording and placing Flags - directly syncing the Audio to that specific point of the PDF.
