[prMac.com] Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom - Lightwood Games is delighted to announce that their iPhone and iPad game, Word Search Party, is rapidly approaching an exciting milestone: the five millionth word search played. Whoever plays game number 5,000,000 will win a $25 iTunes gift card.
The popular word puzzle app was released in October 2010 and has been praised by players as "The best word game on iPhone" and "Brilliant for the whole family" with an average four-star rating in the App Store and has achieved top ten rankings in more than 30 countries.
Word Search Party is the first ever multi-player word search game. Users can compete against others to see who can find words the quickest, challenging nearby friends using Bluetooth or taking on the world through Apple's Game Center. Another unique feature is the large library of word lists that are used to generate puzzles, which is compiled from submissions by players. Currently, there are more than 4,000 puzzles available in the game, with users adding more every day.
"I can't describe how thrilled I am with the success of Word Search Party", said Lightwood's Chris Newman. "It's amazing that more than a year later it's still as popular as ever with word game fans."
Newman expects the five millionth hand to hit some time during the week beginning November 7th. A game counter has been added to the app to show the current total. Word Search Party is a free app supported by advertising and in-app purchase upgrades. All players are eligible for the 5,000,000th game prize, without the requirement to purchase an upgrade.
