Confessions of an iMum

[prMac.com] Mackay, Australia - Recently launched, the Australian-based blog 'The iMum' is a fresh and exciting new website dedicated to reviews on apps and products created for Apple devices such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad and Mac computer. At just three months old, The iMum already boasts dozens of reviews on family friendly iOS and MacOS apps as well as a rapidly growing network of thousands following on Facebook and Twitter.
Founded in August 2011 by a tech-savvy mother of three and self-proclaimed Apple enthusiast from North Queensland, The iMum contains content geared towards all age groups. Site owner Amanda Powell says, "there's something for everyone at The iMum."
"There are many app review sites on the internet these days, but not a great deal are from the perspective of a mother" Amanda said. "I started The iMum to offer an avenue for parents to learn more about iOS and MacOS apps for their children, from another parent so they can make an informed decision about which ones to purchase without having to trawl through thousands of apps themselves."
The website includes reviews that are divided into 20 different categories, including education, games, books and music and a newly introduced section specifically for children with special needs. Product and iBook reviews are also available on the site. Helpful articles and interesting interviews are included, as well as free apps and regular product and promo code giveaways.
Although Amanda acknowledges she is not a professional reviewer, she provides honest reviews from her own perspective and accepts occasional input from others including her three children who love to help test the apps being reviewed. "I have a fantastic team of guest reviewers supporting me in writing the reviews," Amanda declares, "and I must credit them for helping to boost the popularity of the site."
The iMum engages its audience by posting timely content that features specific topics and subjects. For example, the week of Nov. 21-27 is dedicated to vehicle-themed app reviews and giveaways. The iMum also produces a monthly e-newsletter to subscribers that can be signed up for on the site.
