[prMac.com] Dallas, Texas - CleverFiles today announced Disk Drill 1.5, free data recovery software for Mac OS with intuitive user interface, bonus data protection features and powerful recovery algorithms. Disk Drill features Quick Scan that recovers files that have been accidentally deleted and helps in less severe data recovery cases, Deep Scan that looks for files based on their structure, and Search for Lost Partitions, a fast way to scan for any file systems still recoverable on a disk. Bonus features include Disk Image Backup, S.M.A.R.T. data monitoring, Live Preview of found items, Portable Mode and more.
Disk Drill 1.5 adds many new file formats to its Deep Scan recovery algorithm; this time signature database meets these newcomers: FLP (Flash Project files), MINDNODE, RNS (Propellerhead Reason), CAB, TEXTCLIPPING, ARJ, ICO, ICNS, BLEND, XMP (Adobe Lightroom), MYO (MYOB Data files) and others.
Note that using Quick Scan for data recovery you don't have to worry about file types. Quick Scan recovers what is still available in the file system regardless of file formats.
The new release of Disk Drill also comes with totally new icons pack that visually enhances the sleek UI this app has. Disk Drill 1.5 is incredibly fast and reliable. If anything is still recoverable it will get it recovered. Disk Drill is absolutely amazing for music recovery, pictures recovery, hard drive recovery and even iPod recovery (iPod Nano, Mini, Shuffle and Classic supported). Disk Drill recovers your data without taking your disk's file system into account: Quick Scan is available for HFS , FAT16/32, NTFS and ext3, while Deep Scan will work on any file system or no file system at all.
New features in Disk Drill 1.5 also include:
* recovering .Trash folder makes it visible to prevent user confusion when hidden files are recovered
* TIF and EMLX files recovery improvements
* more effective scanning for lost partitions on initialized disks
* Guaranteed Recovery and iTunes compatibility
* improved bad blocks (bad sectors) detection and handling
CleverFiles added a number of localizations, and now Disk Drill speaks English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Japanese, Russian, Swedish and Portuguese.
The team mentioned they are working on something big for the next version of their award-winning Mac data recovery software. What can that be? "We are busy with something completely new. We might need some serious beta-testers really soon. Stay tuned." - said JR Belden, Director of Product Development at CleverFiles.
Disk Drill is compatible with any PPC or Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.5 or newer (including Mac OS 10.7 Lion) and is 64-bit ready. Free reviewer copies of Disk Drill PRO are available.
Disk Drill 1.5 basic is free and is available worldwide from the CleverFiles website.
