[prMac.com] Denver, Colorado - Third Street Software, Inc. today is pleased to announce the release of Sente 6.5, a major update to the popular academic reference manager for Mac OS X. Sente 6.5 includes dozens of important improvements and new features, including a completely new main window design.
The new main window in Sente 6.5 includes a multiple-line reference list, a highly customizable reference editor, and a more attractive and more functional notes editor that color codes notes to match related highlighting in a PDF. Single collection tabs can be created to include, for example, just those references marked "To Be Read." And Sente 6.5 makes it easier to find the matching citation data when importing PDF files.
Sente 6.5 also supports a new approach to formatting documents in Microsoft Word and Apple Pages, called "scan-in-place." This new feature lets users work with formatted documents at each step of the writing process, rather than only at the final stages of writing. And Sente Word documents are now compatible with EndNote Word documents, so users can collaborate with people writing in Microsoft Word with EndNote.
"This is the biggest single update to Sente since its original release in 2004." according to Michael Cinkosky, President of Third Street Software, Inc. "We stepped back and took a close look at all of the most critical areas of the application to see what we could do to make Sente easier to use and more powerful. Many common operations that used to take three or four steps now take only only one or two. We think most people will find Sente 6.5 to be a welcome improvement over earlier versions."
* Sente 6.5 requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher
* OS X 10.7 is required for full screen support.
Sente 6.5 is a free upgrade for everyone with a Sente 6 license. There is a new user manual available in both PDF and EPUB formats.
