[prMac.com] Vienna, Austria - WebsitePainter, the award winning editor for creating professional looking websites has just been released in version 2, for both Mac OS X and Windows. After nearly two years of development, this new version adds table support, image galleries, master pages, 7 new templates, lots of improvements to the web editor and of course, includes all updates of the intermediate incremental releases. Users of WebsitePainter 1 are able to update to this new version 2 completely for free.
WebsitePainter is a web editor for creating professional looking websites, without HTML knowledge and programming. With a few clicks it is possible to create web pages with elements like Web2.0 buttons, gradients, round borders, hover effects, transparencies, continuous text and more. It includes a great variety of templates and supports important Web standards such as HTML, CSS, PHP and ASP.
This release 2 now finally adds the long awaited table support: Tables can contain simple text and their cells can be splitted, merged and edited. Background, gradients and colors can be configured for each cell freely, as used to for all elements in WebsitePainter. The new image gallery element makes it easy to show a big amount of smaller images on the website, and includes view modes as either layer box, window popup, new tab or by replacing an existing image on the page.
The new master page support is a simple mechanism to share parts of the website between different pages. With this feature, it is not necessary anymore to create the same content twice. Additionally, this new release adds support for justified text, hidden form fields, new language translations (Greek and Bulgarian), better resized image quality, and a mechanism to automatically repair damaged .wspd files.
WebsitePainter has built-in support for dynamic HTML content, for example to create a dynamic slide show with a list of images which will fade in and out at an adjustable speed. The editor supports pixel perfect layouting, allowing to place all elements of the Website exactly where they should be, by simply clicking and moving them. But as opposed to other website editors, Website painter does not only support absolute layouting of websites, but is also able to create dynamically sized elements.
