iOS Motion Controlled Music Gets an Upgrade with Shakie Percussion
February 20, 2012 in Music
[prMac.com] Indianapolis, Indiana - Blue Prophet today is thrilled to announce the release of Shakie Percussion 1.2, a musical instrument app for iOS. Shakie uses a realistic physics engine to model and animate pellets to simulate maracas, bells, shakers, tambourines and more. Shakie is a new type of instrument made possible with an iPhone or iPod touch's palm sized, motion sensing display.
When the user tilts or shakes their iOS device, Shakie's on-screen pellets respond and trigger a number of high quality sound samples. Every subtle motion is picked up and animated. This gives the app a really natural feel and makes playing fun. A real-time pitch shifter lets the user shift the pitch as they swirl and shake the pellets. The interface is beautifully clean, simple and ready to pick up and play.
Version 1.2 of Shakie brings the ability to change the shape of the pellet container, providing different spaces for the pellets interact. The update also makes the volume more sensitive to the velocity of individual pellets, increasing the richness and nuance of the sound.
