Wendr Announces Content Partnerships at South By Southwest and Beyond
March 8, 2012 in Social Networking
[prMac.com] New York, New York - Wendr, a social planning application that helps users coordinate their evening plans, announced its immediate partnership with content providers and services including event ticket search engine SeatGeek, on-demand car service Uber and local Austin publisher Do512. "Partnering with Do512 to showcase all South By Southwest nightly events from within Wendr offers immediate value to our users who'll be attending the conference. In addition, having best in class partners like SeatGeek integrated into Wendr will enhance our users' experience by enabling them to access a host of activities such as sporting events and concerts, just as they're considering their plans for the night," said Sam Zises, Wendr's founder and CEO.
Wendr is announcing these partnerships at the onset of the South By Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, where it is sponsoring Austin Caravan (austincaravan.com), being put on by LaunchRock and Crosswa.lk. Wendr is responsible for bringing the "mobile entertainment" by partnering with GameTruck, an ultimate video game theatre vehicle which will be present throughout the event. Austin Caravan is a low-key event running parallel to SXSW from March 9 through March 12 that highlights local talent and unique experiences in a socially exploratory environment.
Wendr, which launched publicly just a few weeks ago, asks users to answer one simple question: What are you doing tonight? With its sleek user interface, Wendr lets users set plans for the night and see what plans their friends have made. Wendr saves you the frustration of contacting multiple friends to make plans, only to learn that some are staying in to study, catch up on work or are still recovering from last night. With Wendr you can see which friends are "Going Out", "Staying In" or "Open to Suggestions".
"SXSW is the perfect event to announce SeatGeek's partnership with Wendr and we are elated to partner with them. Wendr's unique value proposition focused solely on 'tonight' has set them apart in a big way and truly differentiates them from other social planning apps," said Nihar Singhal, VP of Business Development & Strategy for SeatGeek. "SeatGeek is a leading source for purchasing event tickets and a collaboration between our two companies really stood out as a fantastic way for SeatGeek to reach a broader base of consumers in a highly targeted manner."
