Halftone Update Adds Dropbox, Camera+, Aviary Image Editing and More

May 1, 2012 in Photo and Video

[prMac.com] Sammamish, Washington - Juicy Bits today is pleased to announce the release of Halftone 1.9.3 adding support for Dropbox, integration with Camera+, improved Aviary image editing, a custom stamp feature, and more. Named by Apple as one of the best photography apps of 2011, Halftone turns photos into unique, vintage comics that can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and other services. The free update is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and takes full advantage of the Retina display on the new iPad.

"We've had a lot of requests for additional graphic elements that we call Stamps. Instead of overwhelming the app with hundreds of images, we've added a custom Stamp that can use any image from a user's photo library. This way, users can add any graphic element they'd like, including transparent PNG images," says Mike Swanson, Founder of Juicy Bits. "We can't wait to see what our users create."

The free update also enables Halftone to send photos directly to Dropbox, making it easy to work with images on other devices. For Camera users, Halftone takes advantage of new integration capabilities so that photos can be captured and shared easily with the Camera app.

Halftone 1.9.3 has been updated to support new Aviary image editing features, including the ability to apply advanced effects and adjustments to full-size images.

Halftone turns photos into unique, vintage comics. More than a simple "photo filter" app, Halftone makes it easy to add paper styles, captions, speech balloons, graphic stamps, and fonts (including built-in comic fonts). The final image can be sent via e-mail, uploaded directly to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Dropbox, shared with apps like Instagram, Camera+, and Color Splash, printed, and even sent as a real, physical postcard through the mail.

Pricing and Availability:
Halftone 1.9.3 is $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photo & Video category. The Universal app runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, and it requires iOS 4.2 or later.

Founded in 2009, Juicy Bits is a small company that produces unique, freshly squeezed software for mobile devices. Their first release, 3D Camera, earned 4 1/2 mice (out of 5) from Macworld and is frequently among the top 100 photography apps worldwide. Their most recent app, Halftone, has over one million users and was named by Apple as one of the best photo apps of 2011. Copyright (C) 2009-2012 Juicy Bits. All Rights Reserved.
