2048pixels Launches New Wallpaper Sharing Site for Latest Retina Display

This new website fulfills the need for higher resolution artwork required by the new iPad released by Apple in March 2012 with a high resolution retina display. 2048pixels provides a venue for anyone to download original 2048x2048 iPad retina artwork by some of the best designers in the world. With the release of the latest iPad, there is a real need in the market for products that utilize this incredible resolution. 2048pixels creates a place for all designers to showcase their skills while leveraging this latest technology in exciting ways.
The 2048px.com website was built strictly with the retina display in mind. It is one of the first websites out there with full 100% support for retina display graphics. When viewed on the iPad, 2048px.com will provide the feel and usability of a native iPad application. Users can swipe the gallery left or right in order to easily browse through the available wallpaper. When desired wallpaper is found, simply tap on it and the wallpaper product page will be displayed. On this page you will be able to both download and share this wallpaper with the world.
When you click on the download button, the full 2048x2048 resolution image will be displayed in the browser window. On your desktop, you can drag and drop the image to where you would like it to be saved on your computer. You can also right click on the image and select the option to save the image to your local machine. In order to save the wallpaper on your iPad, touch and hold your finger on the image and then tap the "Save Image" popover that appears.
Users also have the ability to further customize their 2048pixels experience through modifying the website's theme. If users click on the theme switch button on the top right corner, the entire look and feel of 2048px.com will switch from light to dark. Once a user has selected a theme, the same theme will be used for future visits as well.
To keep on top of all the fabulous new wallpaper submissions, users can subscribe to the 2048pixels RSS feed. When a user subscribes to the RSS feed in their favorite RSS reader, they will be notified whenever a new wallpaper has been downloaded.
