[prMac.com] Honolulu, Hawaii - Roughsoft today is pleased to announce Voicer for iPhone and iPod touch. Voicer is an audio recording and processing app that brings the advantages of audio editors to the voice recorder, such as seeing and interacting with the audio waveform, as well as applying 26 different audio effects to the sound. Sounds can be shared in .wav or .m4a (aac) format via SoundCloud, attached as email, or using the iTunes app file sharing feature to transfer large files from the iOS device to a computer over USB.
A number of features are aimed at providing for a smooth user experience. Effects are processed in the background, allowing immediate feedback for creative exploration and fun. Loading and saving sounds takes virtually no time, allowing users to move on to their next recording faster.
"Visual design is actually quite important for audio. Audio apps tend to have static interfaces like the unchanging image of a microphone that provides nothing to the user. Being able to see the audio grow and change through waveform and visualization adds a channel of feedback that is helpful." says Roughsoft founder and Audacity Developer Team Member Michael Chinen.
