Brush With Jackson 1.3 for iOS - Kids + Rabbit Brush Their Teeth Daily

May 31, 2012 in Health and Fitness

[prMac.com] Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Rosie's Playtime today is pleased to announces Brush With Jackson 1.3 for iOS, an update to their Health & Fitness app where Jackson, the animated rabbit, can brush his teeth alongside a real child at the sink every day. Designed to make toothbrushing more of a play activity than a chore, the app features Hollywood-style 3D animation and sound. Kids can interact with Jackson by touching him and talking to him, which can all be recorded by the app. Highly expressive, displaying dozens of facial expressions and reactions, Jackson makes a great brushing buddy.

The British Dental Journal published an article on the app in their February 2012 edition, noting that having a personal cartoon character coach, right in the bathroom during brushing, is more likely to establish good brushing habits than even the most creative parental encouragement. With Jackson, brushing becomes an anticipated, joyous routine, rather than a personal hygiene requirement.

Jackson is a highly sophisticated, 3D character, with a solid body and a real personality of his own. His long, floppy ears and bright, wide eyes are attentive, a signal that he is ready to enjoy himself. The animation is of the highest quality, and most movements are in reaction to some stimulus. Do nothing, and eventually Jackson will grimace, turn sideways, and tap his foot impatiently. He performs many coordinated movements in addition to brushing, including a slick mid-air catch on his brush of freshly squeezed toothpaste.

Feature Highlights:
* Press button and Jackson will brush his teeth for two minutes (adult supervision advised)
* Speak and Jackson will repeat what you say
* Rub his tummy and he will giggle
* Poke his tummy to hear him squeal
* Tap his nose for various sounds and facial expressions
* Touch either eye and he will wink
* Use the video button to record interaction of up to one minute
* Touch kazoo button and Jackson will "play" his toothbrush like a kazoo

Unlike the typical iDevice cartoon character, Jackson exhibits advanced body mechanics and character kinetics. He does not have a few parts that move; every part of his whole body moves, gracefully and realistically. A testament to the detail lavished on his creation is that, like a real living being, he never stands completely still. He gently sways, occasionally blinks, imperceptibly inhales and exhales, and unconsciously tightens his grip on the toothbrush from time to time.

Jackson's antics are bound to delight parent and child alike, as he brushes, giggles, yelps, smiles, and talks. Brush With Jackson has as its purpose helping kids get into the habit of brushing twice daily for two to three minutes each time. But surpassing its ostensible goal of gentle behavior modification, is an app of rare accomplishment and artistry. And the company's product video is equally noteworthy.
