MP Vince Cable Visits Silicon Spa

[prMac.com] Leamington Spa, United Kingdom - The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Growth, The Right Honourable Vince Cable MP visited Leamington Spa and spoke with video games entrepreneur David Darling CBE, Kwalee CEO, and Codemasters' co-founder.

Darling was personally invited to attend because of his long success in this ever evolving and challenging industry and his company's position in the dense gaming cluster known as 'Silicon Spa'. The British Liberal Democrat politician spoke to Darling about the barriers to growth, and the huge potential for expansion in the mobile gaming industry.

Darling was more than happy to discuss the industry with the SoS:

"With at least 14 gaming companies within Leamington Spa, it is one of the largest and most concentrated gaming clusters in the world."

Darling is proud to be a part of Silicon Spa:

"I was very impressed that he had already heard about Leamington's gaming cluster. The area has produced many games that have gone to the top of the charts and had world-wide success, including BMX Simulator, Dizzy, Colin McRae Rally, Micro Machines, Motorstorm and DJ Hero."

He adds, "It's great to have the area's many talented individuals recognized from the gaming business area now known as Silicon Spa."

Kwalee are currently developing iOS games, with their next title being announced next week.

Cable's visit comes after his recent announcement to give shareholders binding votes on executive pay.
