in Travel

[prMac.com] Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom - Independent developer Akshay Kapoor is pleased to introduce Let's London 1.0 for iOS, his new travel app filled with Olympic schedules and information, plus listings and maps for London tourist attractions. A practical guide for everyone attending the Olympic Games, the app includes a comprehensive directory with map locations, which allows attendees to easily locate public toilets, tube stations, pubs, coffee shops, and more. Let's London contains the complete schedule, venue, and map listings for every event at the 2012 Olympics. Also provided are the ongoing results of the medals competition and the latest Olympic news. Let's London was recently cited by Apple in the UK App Store as New & Noteworthy under Travel category.

At launch in portrait orientation, the Sports page contains a scrolling list of Olympic event icons or pictographs. Each of the 39 major categories is labeled, and touching any icon immediately opens the complete schedule for every competition in that category. For example, touching the Boxing icon displays a chronological list of qualifying, quarter-final, semi-final, and final events from July 28 to August 12. Users can easily select the match they want to see on any day, as some matches are held concurrently. Touching any event in the long scrolling list opens a full page, which displays a large, street level Google Map, the exact location of the event, and all the time and date information.

Feature Highlights:
* Complete visitor's guide to the 2012 London Olympic Games
* Comprehensive schedule for each sport
* Daily calendar shows every competition taking place each day
* Medals table lists all participating countries and their rankings
* Favorites list
* London attractions, coffee houses, pubs, toilets, and tube stations

The Calendar page is also accessible from the bottom tab bar. The calendar contains every day of the games, and selecting any date opens a full list of all the events and times for that day. The Calendar function is ideal for planning the day's itinerary, and allows fans to create a schedule that takes into account the time required for events, travel, etc. The third of the five buttons in the bottom tab bar is Attractions. From here users can browse more than 40 of London's most famous attractions, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, Hyde Park, and the House of Lords. Each includes a photo, and touching any entry opens a full page featuring a street level Google Map, a location marker, and the nearest tube stations.

The Map button reveals a full screen Google Map of London with attractions and tube stations superimposed. Visitors can use the pinch gesture to zoom in or out, revealing the exact locations of hundreds of tube stations and rail lines in greater London, and touching any map circle displays the name of the station that can be saved in favorites list. Finally, the Nearby button opens a scrolling list of the 20 nearest tube stations, and touching any listing shifts the map to display them on the map. In addition, users can touch buttons for the nearest toilets, pubs, and coffee shops, which appear on the listings as well as the map.

"Let's London contains in a single app everything you need to know when visiting the Olympic Games or visiting London for tourism," stated developer Akshay Kapoor. "Following the Olympics, the app will be updated with additional tourist information."
