ChronoSync and ChronoAgent Updated

in Utility

[prMac.com] Casselberry, Florida - Econ Technologies updates ChronoSync to version 4.3.5 and ChronoAgent for Mac to version 1.3.6. As always, all existing ChronoSync and ChronoAgent users update for free. We are continuously updating all our apps and never charge for new versions. No user is ever left behind. ChronoSync is the automated synchronization and backup application for Mac(R) OS X that can synchronize, backup, and create bootable backups. ChronoAgent for Mac is a utility that runs on the destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync giving you a direct connection between two Macs.

This ChronoSync update fixes an issue where some operations that require root privileges in order to succeed are not performed if it is determined the target resides on a file server. A problem was also fixed in the Scheduled Documents Manager window where a scheduled Container Document item would stop responding when the sync was run with the Container Document window open. Logic was added to alert users to automatically disable "Preserve Extended Attributes" when syncing to file server and to disable "Preserve Access Control Lists" when connecting to any target that doesn't support them. The ChronoAgent update fixes a rare timing problem that would falsely trigger a "File Not Found" error when syncing very large files.

ChronoSync and ChronoAgent for Mac will run natively on both Power PC and Intel-based Macintosh(R) computers running Mac OS X 10.5 and later - Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion. ChronoSync and ChronoAgent for Mac are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese. Download and try the demos, or purchase ChronoSync for $40 and ChronoAgent for Mac for $10. For more information visit Econ Technologies online.

ChronoSync is the easy way to synchronize, backup, and create bootable backups. ChronoSync can sync or backup to almost anything you can connect to your Mac. This includes folders on your Mac, other Macs, PC's, external drives, NAS drives, or anything you can mount to your Mac. With ChronoSync you can schedule and automatically mount volumes so your syncs and backups are never missed. Archive your data and go back in time to restore and view older files. With ChronoSync, you can do a lot more than just copy data, you can manage data, too. Exclude files and folders, check the current sync status of files, even run trial synchronizations to see what will happen before it happens.

ChronoAgent for Mac is a utility that runs on a destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync. Normally, when you connect to another Mac you mount it using file sharing. ChronoAgent bypasses file sharing, giving you full access to the destination Mac and eliminating the need to mount via AFP, SMB or other protocols. Without full access, some files are off limits. With the combination of ChronoSync and ChronoAgent you gain full access to both Macs, automatically backup a Mac when it joins on a network, maintain bootable backups over a network, encrypt data over a network, and more.
