iOS 6 Street View App - Take Photos from 1200 World Famous Landmarks
October 25, 2012 in Navigation
[prMac.com] Kaohsiung City, Taiwan - With the release of iOS 6, we lose the Street View function from the map app. Fortunately, Google Street View API is still operating, which we utilize to make "WGL Camera". This beautiful re-designed application uniquely combines Street View, Gyroscope-integrated virtual camera, points of interests, and map tool in one app. With the rich database and the friendly interface, users can admire more than 1200 preset world famous sites in just a few taps.
Using the Gyroscope-integrated street view camera, we can simulate taking photos as we look around. The images saved to the iDevice even contain the GPS location information, so we may use the "Photos" app to browse the images from the map view. Do you fancy taking pictures in NASA, Amazon, art gallery, or even under the sea? This is the only app that lets you to do all these things from Street View Collections.
You want to capture even more gorgeous photos? Browsing Panoramio scenery photos is also one of the features in this app. When tapping the map, it shows you all Panoramio photos shot in this area. With this feature, you can easily find and download hundreds of stunning scenic photos from a given location, say Waikiki Beach in Hawaii or the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Again, all photos downloaded to the iDevice can hold the GPS information with them.
Most of the built-in 1200 points of interest also contain web URLs so you may visit the introductory websites for the given locations. This is especially useful when you are planning a trip and want to learn more about the sites you are visiting. The location database is also continuously updated, so any new location will be added in the future releases, such as Grand Canyon Street View. Other features like "bookmark location" or "share location via email" are also included for your convenience.
WGL Camera is a universal app. Not only is it optimized for iPhone 5 and iPod Tough 5th Generation wide screen display, but you can also enjoy the "map surfing" on the New iPad Retina Display. If you like to pretend as if you had been to these crazy areas, you may also choose our other product "WhatsGoLa", which contains all necessary tools to let you superimpose cutouts onto those scenic photos. WhatsGoLa is also on sale during the Halloween weekend to celebrate the launch of WGL Camera. More details can be found on the official website.
