New App Helps Support Children in Need
December 13, 2012 in Lifestyle
[prMac.com] Sakiai, Lithuania - If you like the idea of combining fun with support for those in need, there is actually an app for that. The recently launched My Square app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch enables enthusiasts of quirky games to complete two kinds of missions: help the hero in a pink cape achieve his goals and donate to an eponymous non-governmental organization, which works with disadvantaged families and children in Lithuania.
Although My Square was just established this year, it has already made a difference with a number of social projects. Those include providing support for a summer camp for underprivileged children, helping improve the wheelchair accessibility of a small-town school in Griskabudis, Lithuania, and organizing Christmas relief to bring gifts to 100 disadvantaged children of the provincial Sakiai district municipality.
The My Square app contains a simple and colorful game - the goal is to discover ways to help the game's hero water a plant, protect himself from the rain, and so on. By tapping the Donate button, users will be directed to My Square website and will be able to donate a selected amount in exchange for a thank-you certificate. The raised funds will used to set up a training field and playground for children in akiai.
