[prMac.com] Colorado Springs, Colorado - Pi'ikea St. LLC is proud to announce teacher approved improvements to their award-winning Interactive Alphabet app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. The app has been made even more classroom-ready with the help of dedicated teachers' and educators' feedback.
The app, which has become a popular option for learning the ABC's with babies and toddlers at home, now includes an option to focus specifically on Upper, Lower, or Mixed case letters. "Kids most often learn upper case letters first which becomes a major challenge for their preschool and kindergarten teachers since they teach writing lower-case first" said co-founder Ben Lew, a proud father of a new preschooler. "Now parents and teachers have control over what the kids' will see and be better prepared for school."
Letter improvements have also been made to better prepare kids for learning letter-tracing. Slight differences in letter forms, like the lower-case hook 'a' and straight-line uppercase 'I', are often missed in children's materials. Kids will now be learning the letter forms they will soon be tracing.
Interactive Alphabet now also features a British english voice to make the app more globally appropriate. "Many of the app's fans loved the app until they got to the letter Z and it said 'Zee' instead of 'Zed'" said co-founder Matt Smith. "Now you can have the app talk like you!"
The company has also introduced the Craft Lab, a collection of crafts and coloring pages that can be printed or shared from in the app by an adult. "It's our way of providing an offline mode. Kids' can take their favorite characters from the app and have some real-world fun with them" says Ben. "There is a coloring page version of every single letter card from the app!"
Interactive Alphabet Version 2.51 remains one of the most popular ABC apps which continues to be updated with relevant and customer appreciated features. Interactive Alphabet was awarded an Editor's Choice from the Children's Technology Review, named one of the 10 best iphone apps for pre-readers by Babble, named best iPad App for Kids by iLounge and featured in Apple's 2010 Rewind on the App Store.
Interactive Alphabet for iPad/iPhone/iPod touch makes learning the alphabet a hands-on experience. The original artwork and characters draw them in, fun animation and sound effects peak their interest, and memorable unique interactions, such as eating the Apple, playing with the Squid, zipping the Zipper, and making music on the Xylophone keep them coming back for more. Each letter is softly spoken and the upbeat music and sound effects will have kids dancing, mimicking, and asking Mom or Dad if they can have their own iPad. Babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and even parents are having tons of fun with this great new app.
