Karelia Software Releases Sandvox 2.9

in Web Design (E)

[prMac.com] Pasadena, California - Karelia Software today released Sandvox 2.9, a significant update to its award-winning website building software for OS X. Sandvox 2.9 introduces a new Vimeo object that makes it super easy to display videos hosted on Vimeo. Now, for the first time, website creators using Sandvox can simply choose the Vimeo object to embed Vimeo content on a website.

In addition, Sandvox 2.9 improves publishing performance, and now includes direct support for SSL security for FTP and WebDAV. The specific publishing connection protocols supported by the revamped, faster publishing engine include FTP with Implicit SSL, FTP with TLS/SSL, and WebDAV with HTTPS.

New support for LetsMove, a technology acquired with Potion Factory, makes it even easier to install Sandvox. Third-party designers can now bundle extra style sheets as part of a Sandvox design. The Sandvox 2.9 update also includes enhanced support for direct video display on Internet Explorer 9 and later, with no Flash player needed, along with other enhancements and fixes to reported issues.

"Vimeo videos on your website is the next logical addition to Sandvox video choices, and we're excited to make it so easy," said Dan Wood, president of Karelia Software. "In the Vimeo vs. YouTube wars, Vimeo is preferred by many from the artistic and creative community, and Sandvox has a strong audience among creative people. For the rest of us, the update addresses proper maintenance and changes in the OS, and the revamped publishing engine improves publishing performance for everyone."
