Superpin Lets Outdoorsmen Drop Pins On Distant Places Thru iPhone Camera

in Travel (E)

[] Rome, Italy - Independent developer, Mario Schroeck today is proud to announce the release of Superpin 1.1, his new travel app developed exclusively for iPhone and iPad devices. With Superpin, outdoorsmen can orient their iPhone towards any point of interest in the scenery around them (e.g., a campsite, mountain peak, village or island). Within the camera view of Superpin, tapping the screen right on a point of interest will ultimately set a pin on that location:

* Instantly obtain a map which shows the pin's location
* Get it's distance, address and an elevation profile
* See the pin's environment via Street View or get directions to the pin via Maps
* Keep all your pins organised in an interactive list for ease of access later on
* Share by email, Twitter, Facebook, and more

"When my girlfriend Barbara and I were on a hiking trip in the alps in Fall 2013, we tried to identify the location of our hotel as seen from top of the mountain we were on," explained Mario Schroeck, developer of Superpin. "We had a rough idea where it should be but we couldn't really figure out where exactly it was and we wished there was an app that could help us. This is how the idea of Superpin was born! With Superpin you would set a pin visually: watch the scenery through the iPhone's camera and tap the point which you believe coincides with the hotel. Then you could easily compare the location of the pin to the address of the hotel. Moreover, you would obtain other useful information like distance and difference in altitude to your current location. You can read more about it at my website where you also find a video of Superpin in action."

Be it a small village in the valley, a mountain on the horizon, or an island you see from the beach, Superpin even lets you drop pins to the depths of the sea. Just like that!
