[prMac.com] Birmingham, United Kingdom - The Happy Mongoose Company today officially released Tap Tap Squirrel for iOS and Android devices. The app is a platforming arcade game, where the aim is to help George The Squirrel negotiate a variety of environments to reach his home. To do so safely, he will need to jump across platforms, collect acorns and power ups, and leap over hazards like water and spikes. The way home is also blocked by George's enemies and it conceals secret rooms and bonuses to discover.
The game features a range of hand crafted levels filled with over a hundred missions to complete. It is presented with retro-style pixel art graphics and matching 80's chip tunes and sound effects. Any acorns that you collect in game can be spent powering up your squirrel or unlocking new levels, and the game features a bonus section where extra upgrades and acorns can won at the turn of a card. The controls are simple enough for a young child to pick up and play, and there are a range of mission types including time trials, treasure hunts and skill tests.
The game features:
* A special baby sitting mode that locks out in app purchases, sharing and settings menus
* All levels and abilities can be unlocked for free - without having to use in app purchases
* Bonuses including shields, acorn magnets and score multipliers
* Enemies including wasps, spiders, birds and caterpillars
* Over 100 challenges spread out over 12 game worlds
